Favorite Bookshops in Nashville (Repost)
It’s Read Across America week (March 2-6) and in honor of this we thought it would be timely to repost this blogpost about our favorite bookshops in Nashville! So no matter whether it’s the smell of a new book, the comfort of a well-worn favorite, the thrill of discovering a new author, or just needing an excuse to escape from the madness of life, take some time this week to visit one of our favorite and local book stores in Nashville.
Here are a few of our favorite book stores in Nashville:
The Bookshop
This small East Nashville shop really packs a punch. Owner Joelle Herr has curated a wonderful selection of new releases and local authors. Don’t know what to read next? Joelle is excellent at recommendations.
Parnassus Books
In 2011, owner Ann Patchett saw a need for an independent bookstore in Nashville. Maybe more than a need – it was a yearning for a bookstore where “the people who worked there remembered who you were and what you read, even if you were 10.” This Green Hills shop hosts author events and has a great selection of kids and YA books.
McKay’s
This West Nashville shop is gigantic! Not only is it a used bookstore and used record store, but you can also find pre-loved video games, movies and more. If your kid loves to read, this is a great place to buy a whole series of books.
